It’s that time of the year again.  Just when the weather starts heating up, so does the fishing in Charlotte Harbor.  The 2008 Charlotte Harbor Challenge sponsored by HONC INDUSTRIES will benefit the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association along with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Charlotte County.  This year we are adding a whole new twist to the event to separate us from the other ho-hum fishing tournaments. 

This year’s event is going to be held at Laishley Park in beautiful downtown Punta Gorda on August 23rd.  In addition to the great draw of fishing, we are adding something new that everyone one is sure to love… Tasty Ribs!  Local restaurants and amateurs will compete in the Ultimate Rib Challenge to see who has the best ribs in the area.  The ribs will be available for all to enjoy in this finger-licking good competition.  In addition to tasty food, we will have a kid’s area, booths with local vendors and other great activities.  This truly is going to be a community event that everyone can enjoy.
