For over two decades, the CDBIA's annual fishing tournament has brought anglers from all over Florida to beautiful Charlotte Harbor. The Charlotte Harbor Challenge is a favorite among both novice and experienced fishermen. The tournament has expanded and changed over the years, but the friendly competition and spirit of community has endured to make it one of the area’s best known local tournaments.

In 2008, the event was expanded to include a harbor-side community festival and rib competition for area restaurants. The “Ultimate Rib Fest” supported Big Brothers Big Sisters and was an instant success. Thousands turned out to taste the ribs, browse exhibitor booths, enjoy family-friendly entertainment and watch the anglers weigh in their tournament catch at the end of the day.

Fishing and ribs proved a winning combination, and we’re looking forward to an even bigger and better event this year. Restaurants are already beginning to sign on for the rib competition and the event is poised to become one of the area’s most anticipated and attended festivals!
